What does the Benevolent Fund do?
In addition to helping one another through personal relationships and Community Small Groups, we have several ways of assisting in times of need those who attend the Walloon Lake and East Jordan campuses. These programs are funded through the church's Benevolent Program. We take a special offering as part of our Communion Service about every 6 weeks. Individuals sometimes give additionally to help meet the needs of our people. Needs Program - Participants in the Needs Program gather on the first Tuesday of each month for Bible Study, prayer, connecting with each other, and accountability. They receive assistance to help with food, clothing, and other basic needs. This program successfully replaced our former Food Pantry ministry, and provides greater assistance and interaction between our volunteers and participants. |
Special Assistance Program - These needs are addressed on an individual basis, and has included assistance with items like medical costs, heating oil, car repair, and housing. An application starts off the process for consideration.
