MEET OUR AMAZING STAFF
JEFF ELLIS // SENIOR PASTOR
With his bride Denise and three children, Pastor Jeff relocated from Indiana to Walloon Lake in 1991 to serve as Senior Pastor. Gifted in public speaking, among other things, he considers it a privilege to be the “mouth” of the church. "I can't wait for Sundays to speak as I'm ready to share God's word. Its important to get into the Bible, its not just about the Bible."
Jeff is quick to recognize that it’s not him, but the Word that changes lives. Jeff graduated from Calumet College with a Bachelor of Science in Business. He also has achieved a Master's Degree in Pastorial Studies from Grand Rapids Theology Seminary. Prior to leading the flock of believers here, he served as a Youth Pastor in the Grand Rapids area from 1982-91. Pastor Jeff desires that the Walloon church body would not only know the church mission statement, but actually put it into action.

CHAD OVERBEEK // aDMINISTRATIVE PASTOR
I live in Boyne Falls and became the Administrative Pastor in the summer of 2016. Prior to the Lord leading me in leadership here, I worked at Standard Electric in Petoskey. I have been married to my high school sweetheart since 1992 and we have four children. I have enjoyed helping with the Junior High Kids and AWANA as well as serving on the church board for a number of years. A favorite memory verse of mine is Ephesians 2:8-9 "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so no one can boast."

andy stefanic // worship pastor
Born and raised in Michigan, Andy was brought up in church from a young age and is a Pastor's son. At the age of thirteen, he began playing music in worship services. Approximately five years later, he felt called to lead worship. In his early twenties he spent time writing and producing his own songs in a recording studio in Nashville TN. Andy formed a band and started leading worship at youth events, festivals and churches around Michigan and the mid-west. After ten years of traveling, he felt a strong desire to focus on family time together and their local church. Andy has been married to his wife Rachelle for sixteen years, have four children, and currently live in Ellsworth with their youngest son, Kyle. Andy is very passionate about seeing people connect with God through music and worship. He is excited to see what God has in store for Walloon Lake Community Church.

DOROTHY PRINS // CHILDREN'S MINISTRY DIRECTOR
Dorothy Prins has been part of the WLCC family since 2010. Before becoming the Director of Children's Ministries in 2012, she taught kindergarten at a local elementary school. She and her husband, Calvin, are crazy about each member of their blended six-children family. She feels fortunate to be part of the faith story of children and their families here at Walloon Lake.
Dorothy considers herself a simple girl trying to shed light on an extravagant God. She finds that common moments of life - built one upon the other - create meaningful experiences and opportunities to point others to our Heavenly Father. Parents have the most opportunity to bring His truth to the daily life experiences they share as a family, and Dorothy loves to partner with them as Deut. 6:6-7 states: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up."
Her goal for the children at Walloon is that they grow to love Jesus, love others and serve the world. Parents are the primary teachers of their children, and Dorothy feels it’s essential that we equip and encourage parents in their God-given role to disciple their children. She is excited to walk along side and support families as their children come to faith in Christ and grow in relationship with God. She can't imagine doing anything different and thinks that she has the best "job" in the world... teaching kids about Christ. What could be better?

lynn groff // maintenance minister
Keeping order and cleanliness, and organizing and facilitating building usage, Lynn Groff has served since 1997. He and his wife, Lucy have two children. Lynn is thankful that WLCC is a welcoming, friendly church that teaches God's Word.
JASON RICHEY // EJCC CAMPUS PASTOR
Pastor Jason, his wife Kelly, and their two children joined the WLCC family in 2005. His past work experiences include everything from candy store stock boy to junkyard worker to Army paratrooper to inner-city school teacher. After graduating from Moody Bible Institute in Youth Ministry, he served as a Youth Pastor for more than 15 years, including six years at the Walloon Lake location.
"I'm actually a bit jealous of missionaries, because my heart has always been about sharing Jesus with people who don't know Him yet. While that's still my passion, my time in youth ministry also developed a love for building, helping people through tough times, and training them for ministry. I also suspect that job made me just a little bit crazy." His family suspects "crazy" was a pre-existing condition....
Jason was surprised to see how God used all those past experiences to uniquely prepare him to go to East Jordan as the campus pastor at our new location in 2011. He's also very grateful that he's not alone. "Every week I become even more proud of the team God has assembled at East Jordan Community Church. From staff members who go above and beyond their duties, to volunteers who've joined us recently, God is doing things only He could do. And He's using His people to do it! Jason can't wait to see what God will do next!"

BRANT COLE // YOUTH PASTOR
Having grown up right here in Walloon Lake, Pastor Brant has found his transition back to be very natural. With his wife Christine, he has been in youth ministry since 2010. Gifted in relational connections and transformational preaching, Brant finds it to be one of the highest privileges to do ministry with and to students. To him, student ministry is extremely important because students are not just the church of tomorrow; they are the church of today.
Brant has his M.A. in Pastoral Studies and Congregational Leadership from Moody Theological Seminary. He studied Pastoral Studies at Moody Bible Institute for his undergraduate studies. He also currently speaks each summer at Lake Ann Camp and writes for www.youthspecialties.com and www.youthleader.co.
