group care
Back to Leading A Life Group
There are often care situations that the group can handle. This could be a surgery or birth of a child, where the group provides meals for a week. A situation like that can often be handled by the group and doesn’t require any further resources from the church. Another instance is the passing of an elderly parent. The group could make meals and attend the funeral. As a group, make a plan together to provide appropriate care.
Even though you may be handling it in the group, please let your small groups staff contact know so the church can be aware of what is going on. We regularly pray for our groups and there are times the church might want to send flowers or a card, or even make a hospital visit. We often won’t find out unless the small group leader lets us know something is going on.
